A fast loading website is important. For users there is nothing more annoying then webpages taking ages to load – they quickly go off to find another resource to fulfill their needs. So getting your site to load quickly is a must, just like cars – faster is better! But first you need to know how quick your site loads, then you can decide whether it needs improving.

2 Simple Tools

These 2 services allow you to quickly see the size of specific web pages, the load time and average speed per KB.

Resource 1) iWebtool – simply enter a list of URLs and click the ‘Check!’ button.
Resource 2) Selfseo – exactly the same as above.

You will find the results vary using both tools, so I advise you to use them both.

More Extensive Tool

If you want a bit more data to peek at, then use the WebsiteOptimization report. This tells you; object size totals (such as HTML, css etc), external objects and the download times depending on connection speeds. It also tells you an analysis and gives recommendations.

New Webmaster Directory Live Online – Reciprocal Only

We have added another small section to our service, this time it is a free reciprocal directory where you can submit your own webmaster related resource and visit others that may be of interest to yourself. Visit the business related dir now to make a submission.

The aim of this addition is to bring more traffic to the site for ourselves, and give you another means of marketing your own business with no cost (except a little bit of time!). Any problems with it get in touch, it has only just been installed so there may be a bug or two, but hopefully not.

Microsoft Releases A New Free Toolbar

Microsoft has released a new MSN toolbar. It looks fairly complex and may not be for everyone (I’m still getting used to Google Chrome). You can do lots of things with the toolbar including personalizing it with different colors as well as keeping up with RSS feeds and searching MSN from the toolbar. From the video Microsoft have released it also looks like the toolbar has some kind of a flip function so you can flip between features.
