Don’t Keep A Hosting Package If You Don’t Need It
I own a website which is about ways to save money on fuel. Given the nature of the topic when the price of fuel is dropping and isn’t really on the agenda the website gets very little traffic. When the price of fuel is rising and everyone is going mad about it the traffic rockets.
At the moment everything is quiet, and with the price of oil dropping I expect it to be the same for a quite a while. So now is certainly the right time for me to move the website from its own hosting package onto my own reseller hosting. This is going to save me just £40 over the next 12 months (about $71 at time of posting).
It will probably take me around an hour to set-up the new hosting, move the files across and change nameservers. Doing it properly should also ensure very little or hopefully zero downtime. And for the sake of an hour Ive saved myself £40 in expenses over the next 12 months.
So if you run a website which is no longer hot but you want to keep the website, change the hosting package to lower costs and increase profits!
